Gwinnett police are asking for help from the public in the investigation into the shooting death of a man at the Residence Inn on Pineland Road in Duluth.
Officers responded to the hotel at around 10:30 p.m. Friday night and found a deceased adult man with traumatic injuries to his head.
Emergency responders initially believed the death was accidental in nature, but an autopsy performed by the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that the victim has sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Police say the cause of the victim’s head trauma is under investigation.
